From here you can touch the sky
And on foot too... simply by taking a short, easy walk to reach the Nuvolau Refuge at 2,575 m. The 360 degree view from the terrace of Cortina, the Marmolada, Tofana and the Giau Pass is incomparably beautiful. The refuge is open only in summer.
Not by chance, this favourable location has been well known since the beginnings of mountaineering: this refuge was built in 1883 and is the oldest in the Dolomites.
The Menardi family manages this hut with care, love and respect for the history of the place, and has skilfully preserved the atmosphere and authentic taste of a stay at high altitude. It takes a bit of spirit of adaptation to experience the mountains as the pioneers of the 19th century did.
The kitchen offers typical mountain dishes as well as bread and sausages grilled on the terrace.
Unforgettable sunrises and sunsets are guaranteed.
Events throughout the year
The Nuvolau Refuge is a member of the Cortina Delicious Team, a consortium that organizes all kinds of events throughout the year: high altitude concerts, parties on the panoramic terraces, exhibitions and meetings in the cultural centres of the area, historical re-enactments in the museums of WWI, sports competitions, themed dinners and photo competitions and solidarity events.
